Sign in with a magic email link

You asked ExpressCharge to email you a sign-in link, and now you want to finish signing in on your iPhone. This page walks you through opening that link and watching the app set up your device. The whole thing takes about a minute.

  • The ExpressCharge app installed on the iPhone you want to sign in on.
  • The sign-in email open on that same iPhone.
  • A working internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular).

Goal Sign in to ExpressCharge using the link in your email

Time~2 min

  1. Open the email on your iPhone

Find the sign-in email from ExpressCharge in your Mail app. The link needs to be opened on the iPhone you want to sign in on — forwarding it to a laptop won’t work.

  2. Tap the sign-in link

Tap the sign-in link in the email. iOS hands the link to the ExpressCharge app, which opens automatically.

iOS opens ExpressCharge as soon as you tap the link.
  3. Wait while ExpressCharge checks your sign-in code

The app shows a progress screen titled Checking your sign-in code. A live indicator sits next to the Sign-in code row while this runs.

Step 1 of 3: the app verifies the link.
  4. Wait while this iPhone is set up

The title changes to Setting up this iPhone and the Device setup row becomes active. ExpressCharge is registering this device to your account so it remembers you next time.

  5. Wait for the final sign-in step

The title changes to Almost there with the subtitle Signing you in. The Signing in row is the last step.

When sign-in succeeds, the hero turns green and shows You’re signed in with the message Welcome to ExpressCharge. All three step rows show a green checkmark.

All three steps complete.

From here the app moves you on to the main customer screen.

The hero turns red and says “Couldn’t sign in.” The message under the title tells you what went wrong — for example, Connect to Wi-Fi or cellular and try again. Fix the underlying problem, then tap Try again at the bottom of the screen to return to the Welcome screen and restart.

Tapping the link opens a web page instead of the app. Make sure the ExpressCharge app is installed on this iPhone, and that you’re tapping the link on the same iPhone where the email arrived. Links forwarded from another device or opened in a desktop browser won’t reach the app.

Nothing happens when you tap the link. The link may have expired or already been used. Request a new sign-in email and tap the link in the newest message.
