Change your subscription plan

This tutorial is for drivers who want to move to a different plan — for example, upgrading for more kWh or switching to one with a higher amp limit. You’ll start from your subscription page in Polaris Express, open the hosted customer portal, and make the change there. You need a Polaris Express account that’s already linked to a plan.

  • Sign in to Polaris Express with the account that holds the subscription.
  • Have your payment method handy in case the new plan needs one.
  • If you don’t yet have a plan on file, your operator has to provision one for you — the subscription page can’t create one.

Goal Switch to a different subscription plan

Time~5 min

  1. Open your subscription page

In the sidebar, go to Your subscription. The page header shows your current plan name (for example, “Standard plan”) and a status badge.

The subscription page is your starting point for plan changes.
  2. Check your current plan details

Scroll to the Plan section. You’ll see your plan name, the start date, and the date your current billing period ends. The tiles on the right show your entitlements — Max amps and Ramped charge — so you can compare them against the plan you’re considering.

  3. Open the customer portal

Scroll to the Manage section at the bottom of the page and select the link to the customer portal. Polaris Express opens the Lago hosted portal in a new tab, already signed in for your account.

  4. Change your plan in the portal

In the Lago portal, find the subscription section and pick the plan you want to switch to. Confirm the change in the portal’s checkout flow. The portal handles proration and payment.

  5. Return to Polaris Express

Close the portal tab and go back to Your subscription. Refresh the page so it pulls the latest subscription data from Lago.

You’ll know the switch worked when:

  • The Plan section shows the new plan name in the header.
  • The Max amps and Ramped charge tiles match the new plan’s entitlements.
  • The Period ends date may update if the new plan starts a fresh billing period.
  • The Estimated bill in the stat strip recalculates the next time you charge.

If any of these still show the old values after a refresh, wait a minute and refresh again — Polaris Express reads from Lago on each page load, and Lago can take a moment to reflect the change.

The page says “No subscription on file.” Your account isn’t linked to a plan yet. Use the Contact operator button on that screen to email your operator and ask them to provision one.

The Manage section doesn’t show a link to the portal. The portal URL is fetched per request and is hidden if the fetch fails. Refresh the page. If the link still doesn’t appear, the portal may be temporarily unavailable — try again later, or contact your operator.

The plan didn’t update after I switched. Refresh Your subscription. Polaris Express re-fetches your subscription, current usage, and plan from Lago on every page load. If the old plan still shows after several refreshes, contact your operator.
