Add an EV card to your account

This tutorial is for drivers who want to use an EV card to start charging sessions on Polaris Express. EV cards are linked to your account by your operator — you don’t add them yourself from the web app. By the end of this page you’ll know how to request a card, confirm it landed on your account, and what to do if it doesn’t appear.

  • An active Polaris Express account you can sign in to.
  • Your operator’s contact email. If you don’t have it, the Your EV Cards page shows a Contact operator button that opens a pre-filled email.
  • The physical EV card itself, if your operator gave you one. The card’s printed ID helps the operator find it in their system.

Goal Get an EV card linked to your account

Time~5 min

  1. Open Your EV Cards

Sign in to Polaris Express on the web, then go to Cards in the sidebar. The page header reads Your EV Cards.

If no cards are linked yet, you’ll see an empty state titled No EV Cards linked yet with a Contact operator button.

The Cards page before your operator links a card.
  2. Contact your operator

Click Contact operator. Your email client opens a new message addressed to your operator’s support address.

    Tell them:

    • The email address on your Polaris Express account.
    • The printed ID on your physical EV card, if you have one.
    • A short label you’d like the card to show under (for example, “Home car” or “Work van”). The operator can set this as the card’s display name.

Send the email and wait for the operator to confirm.

  3. Reload Your EV Cards

Once the operator confirms they’ve linked the card, return to the Cards page and reload it.

Your new card appears in the grid with its display name and the last four characters of its tag ID. Newly linked cards are active by default and show a green Active badge.

A linked card appears in the grid with its display name and status.

You’ll know the card is ready to use when:

  • The card appears in the grid on Your EV Cards.
  • The Active stat at the top of the page shows at least 1.
  • The card has an Active badge, not Inactive.

The Total sessions and Last used stats stay at 0 and Never until you actually start a charging session with the card.

The card hasn’t appeared after the operator confirmed. Reload the page. The card list is pulled fresh from the charging backend on every load, so a hard refresh is enough — you don’t need to sign out and back in.

The card shows as Inactive. An inactive card can’t start sessions. Reply to your operator and ask them to activate it. You don’t need to add the card again.

A card I used to have is gone. If your operator deleted the card from the charging backend, it drops off your list automatically. Contact your operator to confirm whether the removal was intentional.
