Sign in by scanning a charger QR

This guide is for drivers who want to sign in to their Polaris account by scanning a QR code — either the one printed on a charger or the one on their EV card. You’ll end up signed in on the device that did the scanning, with no email or password to type.

You need an account that’s already been provisioned by your fleet operator, and an EV card linked to that account.

  • You have a Polaris customer account.
  • Your EV card is linked to your account. If you’ve never tapped your card at a charger before, your operator may need to map it first.
  • You’re on the device you want to sign in on (a phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera or QR scanner).

Goal Sign in to your Polaris account by scanning a QR code

Time~2 min

  1. Scan the QR code on the charger

Point your device’s camera at the QR sticker on the charger. The code opens a link that ends in /auth/scan on the Polaris site.

The QR sticker is usually on the front of the charger, near the connector.
  2. Open the sign-in screen

Your browser lands on a page titled Tap your card to sign in. If JavaScript is on, the page forwards you to the sign-in screen on its own after about a second.

If it doesn’t, tap Continue to sign-in.

The page tells you which charger you scanned, then sends you to the sign-in screen.
  3. Tap your EV card on the charger

The sign-in screen waits for your EV card. Hold the card flat against the card reader on the charger you scanned.

The charger reports the tap back to Polaris, which matches it to your account.

  4. Wait for the redirect

Once your card is recognised, the page redirects you to your dashboard at /. You’re now signed in.

You’ll know it worked when:

  • The browser lands on your customer dashboard.
  • Your name appears in the top-right corner.
  • You can see your recent charging sessions.

“Continue to sign-in” doesn’t go anywhere. Check that your browser allows cookies for the Polaris site. The sign-in page needs to set a session cookie to remember you.

Nothing happens after I tap my card. The QR scan has a 60-second window. If you waited too long between scanning the QR and tapping your card, scan the QR code again to start over.

I get a “rate limited” message. You can scan up to ten times per minute from one network. Wait a minute and try once more. If it keeps happening, your card may already have been used to sign in on another device in the last few seconds — each scan can only sign you in once.

I get an “unauthorized” message. Your EV card isn’t linked to a customer account yet, or it’s linked to an account that isn’t a customer account (for example, an operator account). Contact your fleet operator and ask them to confirm your card is mapped to your account.
